Outlying Area, Goldsboro...

In 1993 Goldsboro, the county seat for Wayne County, was ranked in Money Magazine's Top Ten US Cities to live.  This decision was based on practical things: a stable workforce, a bustling economy, access to major markets, affordable living costs,  and the availability of higher education.

Today, Wayne County continues its growth and preparation for the future.  By creating industrial and business parks, by building new schools and manufacturing facilities, and by participating in regional marketing efforts, Wayne County is poised to remain a community of progress.  Indeed, Wayne County is the proud home to the 2001 Best Air Force Base in the World Award, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.
