Nestled in the southwest corner of Wake County, the Town of Fuquay-Varina
began as two communities: Fuquay Springs, a resort near a spring on
Stephen Fuquay's property, and Varina, named for a young woman who wrote
to soldiers in the Civil War. The two towns merged and eventually added a
hyphen to the name to acknowledge the historical significance of both
settlements. Today the town is home to more than 10,000 residents who
enjoy the balance of a strong sense of history with high-tech industries
and innovative businesses. |
