Worthington is more
than just a carefully preserved downtown. With little room to build
left in Worthington, homeowners have purchased in the City of
Columbus areas with Worthington Schools.
Old Worthington is a
crisscross of shaded streets with pretty frame and brick homes.
Behind Thomas Worthington High School lies Medick Estates, where the
homes really are estates on irregular wooded lots. South of
Worthington center, devotees of Frank Lloyd Wright built about 48
houses on Rush Creek in Wright’s “organic” style back in the 1950s.
They now constitute one of the tourist attractions of this suburb.
The seven-member city
council chooses a mayor and appoints a city manager. The city has
its own police and fire department. |
